The Beausejour Daylily Gardens photo contest's results:
The results are in for the 2011 photo contest. Pat Bakstad (local photographer) and Melanie Pelletier(contest organizer) evaulated the photographs and judged them based on composition, technical quality (lighting and focus,)creativity and overall appeal. The photographs were also posted online at the daylily Gardens website and a web poll was created to let the public pick their favourite images.
Winners of this year's Photo Contest are:
1.Winter in the Garden -First Place went to Shelley DeMarco from Beausejour for her beautiful photograph of ice-covered branches. (Second place went to Sylvia Mroz from Beausejour.)
2.Yellow in the Garden -First place went to Treena Massey of Winnipeg for her lovely close up photograph of yellow sedum flowers. (Second place went to Shelley Demarco from Beausejour.)
3.Pets in the Garden -First place went to Hannah Thomson from Dugald for her colourful picture of Julius the cat climbing in an apple tree.(Second place went to Dave Kehler from Beausejour)
4.Photos in the Daylily Garden -First place went to Edna Barrie from Beausejour for her delicate photograph of a white columbine flower..(Second place went to Gregory Kendell Puhacz of Beausejour)
The photographs will be on display at the Brokenhead library until mid-December. Please come and admire the great submissions from local photographers. We are very grateful to Pat Bakstad for her help and expertise with the judging, and the staff at the Brokenhead library for their support of this local contest. And, a big thank you to everyone who participated by sending in their photographs!
